First Round: K.O. Winner: Female

Arguments.  We get into them all the time.  Usually with women, specifically the women we love.  Why?  BECAUSE THEY TURN THINGS INTO GIANT ARGUMENTS AND THEN THEY HATE YOU.  Until that changes and they love you again.  The more you apologize and try to make things better the angrier they get.  It's like they WANT you to not care that you angered them and if you DO care then they are like "NOOOOO YOU CAN'T FUCKING CARE YOUR THE DEVIL!"

Its extremely unfair to all the guys who try their very best to keep their women happy. Its impossible to think that no man will ever make a woman angry, but the very least she can do is allow you to make it up to her. I think the main issue lies in the fact that women think differently than men, we want to make them happy but they we only do so because we erred in the first place. believe me, if we knew we'd screwed up, we wouldn't have done it in the first place, I promise.

The main reason, WE MEN ARE IDIOTS, WE DO NOT THINK THIS WILL UPSET YOU, IF WE DID WE WOULD NOT DO IT.  They don't care however.  They would rather be angry with you for years, weeks, days, hours, minutes, seconds, etc.

I think that list probably should have gone in the opposite direction...

Worst of all, they KNOW it will upset you.  They KNOW that you will not be able to be happy until things are fixed, but they do not care.  They want you miserable until they feel better.  Is it fair?  NO.  Is it understandable?  YES.  Their minds work different than ours and as such they interpret things differently.  Is that our fault?  NO.

Well, we have to do our best to understand them...

FUCK UNDERSTANDING.  I'LL TRY TO UNDERSTAND WHEN THEY TRY TO UNDERSTAND US.

Of course, you cant tell them that, because then that would be admitting they've also made mistakes. And now I get the backlash from the angry female population ready to castrate me because I've insulted them. I honestly believe women take things much farther than they need to. I understand we need to understand, but try to understand we don't always understand. That made sense to me, I hope you understood.

Bottom line: Guys make mistakes, but please at least let us apologize. We're trying, honestly

Pretty much, Yeah.

Except Us, Listen to Our Opinions

have you ever had something you loved suddenly turn horribly against you?  Favorite food, drink, movie, where one fact u nvr noticed made you find it revolting?  Like you love a certain pizza, but one day a friend tells you it smells like old moldy cheese and u cant eat it anymore?
or when ur all excited about harry potter, and that old bitch says "Dumbledore's gay", thus making his relationship with Harry extra... "special"

Not an issue for some people, but it does throw the situation into a new light. I think of this phenomenon in a more concrete sense. For example, you may love Mexican food. Then one day your friend comments the ground beef looks like shit. That would ruin almost anyone's appetite for chimichangas. Though in that case, the quality of your food selection is equal to the appearance of the food...shit

This brings up the question of how much of our own opinions are based on the opinions of others. Maybe you have a secret love, but dont want anyone to know for fear of being judged. A guilty pleasure. But why does it have to be a guilty one? Why are we ashamed of what we enjoy?

because we give other peoples opinions more credibilty than our own. why?

What about critics, who are supposedly better versed in the subject than we are? Do their opinions count more than ours, or our friends?

hpw about Kickass? great movie :)  but universally deadpanned by many critics

Well, if you want to call it great....

DUDE little girls who kill things rock!!!!!!

I'm just saying I see why it was poorly reviewed, all it contained was little girls killing things tied together with a kid getting his ass beat as he tried to play superhero. And then lets throw in a jetpack, because why not?

JETPACKS ROCK!!!!!!!!

....I will concede that point. Jetpacks do rock. But I think the point of the matter is, everyone has their own tastes, and there is no universal good or bad label. Even people with similar tastes dont agree on everything, and you can never rely on someone elses opinion to form your own. I think the worst part is that we allow other peoples opinions to affect our own. Not avoiding something we hear is no good, but letting their judgement change our opinion without realizing it. You might have actually liked the second and third Pirates of the Caribbean movies, if everyone around you had said how terrible they were

I agree, but its our fault for being weak willed sheep. we need to stay up n fight for our opinions. n kill those who stand against us

As always, we here at PointlesslyTrendy do not condone killing.

i condone killing. of everyone

Just, trust your own opinion, dont let people make up you mind for you. If possible, dont even seek out reviews, they affect your judgement without you even realizing it at times. And please, dont kill anyone who thinks differently

Not Yet Dead

Well, so much for the whole once a week update thing

Believe it or not, despite the ample amount of time we both spend online, neither myself nor my compatriot have really been in contact to plan a joint post, hence why I am alone tonight. Its so cold, out there by yourself on the interwebz.

At any rate, we've briefly hit on a couple topics for upcoming posts, and I will use all persuasive methods necessary to return to his duty of aiding me in making these posts a bit more amusing and occasionally even adding something useful to discussions.

But since you came here to...I'm actually not sure why you came here, presumably no one's updated their Facebook status in a while, so you've got five minutes to kill. So, to make this post worth reading, here's my opinion on immigration.

Just kidding, we're not discussing anything nearly as controversial as that.
